In my visual research and creative development for Camila Cabello’s “I LUV IT,” I drew inspiration from distinct, visually striking scenarios to complement the song’s pop vibrancy. The video, directed by Nicolás Méndez, features fluorescent gas stations and candy-painted sunsets that evoke a Harmony Korine-esque aesthetic. This backdrop sets a surreal and edgy tone, reminiscent of “Spring Breakers,” with a playful nod to finger-gun violence. My ideas for the scenarios aimed to enhance this edgy yet whimsical feel, aligning with Méndez’s signature style, previously seen in his work with Rosalía. The result is a vivid, dynamic visual experience that perfectly matches the song’s bold energy.
