For Dua Lipa’s “Love Again” music video, the visual research work was centered around integrating a Western vibe with surreal, modern elements. I meticulously deleted horses from vintage rodeo photographs to create scenes where cowboys ride invisible animals, adding a whimsical twist to the classic Western imagery. My research spanned all kinds of cowboy representations, even drawing inspiration from iconic references like the “Midnight Cowboy” light pendant. The resulting visuals feature Dua Lipa riding a mechanical bull, square-dancing with a stylish crew, and donning a cowgirl hat with flair. The surrealism peaks as cowboys attempt to lasso a giant floating egg, blending traditional Western aesthetics with imaginative, contemporary creativity.
